Midjourney Prompt Patterns That Consistently Produce Cohesive Series
Generating one good image is easy. Generating ten that look like they belong together requires specific prompt patterns. Here are the ones I use. I produce AI art for client projects that require multiple images in a consistent style, and the hardest part is not generating one good image. The hard part is generating ten images that look like they belong to the same project. Individual prompts produce individual results, and individual results have a way of looking visually disconnected even when each one is good on its own. I have developed specific prompt patterns that produce cohesive series, and they have changed how I work. The Fixed Prefix Pattern The most reliable pattern for cohesive series is a fixed prefix that describes the style, lighting, and treatment, followed by a variable subject. Every prompt in the series starts with the same string of style descriptors and ends with a different subject description. The fixed prefix acts as a visual anchor that ties the images together. My typical prefix includes the medium, the lighting setup, the color treatment, and a style reference. For a recent project, I used editorial photography, soft north-facing window light, muted desaturated palette, shot on medium format film as the prefix for twelve different product images. The results looked like a single photographer shot them in one session, because the style descriptors were identical across all prompts.
